The lovely Charlotte, from a photo taken just today. I don’t think she’s going to like this one, because although it looks like her, it’s not a typical expression for her. I got a lot of good shots, so I’ll do some more prints. It was nice to be photographing someone gorgeous who also looks good in a picture – that’s not as common as you’d think. So much of attractiveness is bound up in personality and demeanour, so logically there must be many people who look great on film, but you would not consider attractive in person.
Things Meestah Grant Learnt Today:
• If you walk down Adam’s Terrace at 7pm, you will meet lots of cats.
• Brett has now exposed me to enough New Order to discern the difference between edits of the song ‘Ceremony’ on the Marie Antoinette soundtrack and the Singles version. The single is 13 seconds longer.
• Vic’s Sci-Fi Club are nice people, but astonishingly bad communicators.
• Reading Ninja by Brian Chippendale, a large (42cm tall) graphic novel, is like a window into mental illness.
• The fashionable look for the young urban professional this season is black trousers, a tieless business shirt, and a tight-fitting brown jacket. I saw three guys dressed like this in under five minutes.
• The most depressing thing I saw today was a large group of women having after-work drinks in the winebar across the street from St. Mary’s. The entire group wore nothing but black. I fear their imaginations had died.
Tomorrow I encounter Garry Trudeau. Who will survive?
