I was in Fidels with the lucent Coco today. I ordered a $6 mocha milkshake (because I am basically twelve) and was charged $7.50.
“Is that because it’s Queen’s Birthday?” I asked, noticing the ‘15% Surcharge’ sign.
“Yes,” they said.
“That’s not 15%” I said.
There was the slightest of pauses. “Plus coffee,” they replied.
I just paid an unlisted 10% coffee tax. Good thing the quality of the company made up for it.
