The NZ Graphic Novel Scene

There’s an interesting article in the Sunday Star Times (link unavailable) about the NZ graphic novel scene – waaaait, what NZ graphic novel scene?

Well, it seems Auckland’s Sheehan Brothers have published a new 4-part comic (with no publishing specifications available except for a listing on TradeMe), and there’s a mention of Jared Lane’s excellent Progess (which after eight years and six issues is a total of 160 pages long), and the publication of the latest New World (which is an ongoing anthology series which mostly focuses on super hero derivations and has zero to do with graphic novels), and… that’s it. Wellington isn’t even mentioned.

I have to get back on the scene. This is pathetic.
