My only Xmas party

Even pre-recession, the Capital Times Xmas parties were getting incrementally cheaper each year, and this year we didn’t even go out – it was held in the Pirie Street office. However, the conversation was interesting, and there was a lot of booze from advertising clients. In fact, there was so much I was invited back tonight for after-work drinks.

Big mistake! The booze fairies had spirited away ALL the spirits, and because people were still working, they promised to text me when they’d finished… and then never texted. I don’t ask for much from my acquaintances, but it’s nice to be, you know, considered. I cooled my heels in the library for two hours, and then went home. Bit of a waste of an evening.
