Cry Yourself to Sleep by Jeremy Tinder

Cry Yourself to Sleep
by Jeremy Tinder
Top Shelf, 2005

A slim debut, slightly smaller than the average NZ A5 comic, relating the story of a video store clerk whose novel is rejected, a robot looking to become a nicer person by following the lifestyle teachings of a tiny bird, and a bunny who is fired from ‘Tubby Subs’ because his gloves don’t fit and people complain about yellow fur in their sandwiches.

The characters are all mopey sad sacks and no-one listens to each other, or even seems to like each other very much, but it’s well paced and the format is cute.
